We are taking off to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow! Thought I would share some pictures from my sister's house with her beautiful pumpkins and daughter (my niece). Enjoy, and everyone have a great Thanksgiving break!

G Family
I had the opportunity to work with the M Family again, only this time I got to meet the extended family! It was a miracle in weather that day as the clouds started closing in. The wind was blowing like crazy and rain was predicted to fall any second. After a move of location, resulting in better cover from the wind, we proceeded, with prayers in our hearts, to the session. Miraculously, the children were great, the cover worked from the wind and by the time the rain drops made it through the trees we were on our last shot, WHEW! Can you say crazy? Here are some of the fruits of that day!

S Portrait
I just got back from Kennewick where I did a couple of photo shoots this weekend. One of those was a portrait session for one of my best friends, it was so fun to work together on this! My friend is amazingly photogenic so it wasn't hard to get pretty shots of her. My timing for the session was a little on the late side of fall but it worked out okay, by many miracles;P All the shots look beautiful and I thought I would include a submission for the iheartfaces challenge: Autumn Splendor! Enjoy!

Some Photo Challenges!
I am sick today as is my sweet Lucy, so while my husband is at church I thought that I would go through some of our photos and join up with some great challenges! This first photo is for the PaperMamma's photo challenge: Favorite from October. Can I just tell you how hard it is to pic a fave? It's pretty darn hard and I'm never very good at it, but this picture of Lucy jumped out at me. I love how the backlighting catches on her hair and enhances her dark blue eyes! She was outside playing on one of the springed horses at the playground when I took this, it embodies how we spent our October:
Also fun fact, the shirt Lucy is wearing is a boys button up shirt, I tend to cross into the boys section for shirts for Lucy because sometimes I like to have more selection that the usual pink, floral girliness. I find that when I look at places that do other things for girls they are more expensive. You don't always have to keep to the girl section if you know what your doing, I just paired this shirt with some jeggings and her mocassin boots and the look works great. Also putting her hair into pigtails to make sure she's not mistaken for a boy, though I don't think we were really endanger of that;P Here is the whole outfit so you get the idea:
Here is my selfie from this weekend. I was playing with some forties hair styles while styling a dress that I "flipped" (this will be featured on my fashion blog when I get that up and going). This picture was so pretty in black and white I had to show it. It was also snowing this weekend (yuck) so I had to take all of my pictures in doors, never my favorite, so it's always nice when something turns out artistically pleasing regardless:

And, because we all love a good blooper, a picture for Simplicity's photo challenge, "blooper". This is from some pictures I took of Lucy with my red lipstick on her face. I took this picture after her dad had cleaned it off her face, she was not happy, I love pictures of those crocodile tears;P

Before and After...
Here's a before and after of a photo I took of Lucy in her fairy costume. I wanted it to look very light airy and natural. So what I did on this photo: First I just fixed the overall contrast, used a light fill layer, and used the dodge tool to lighten things up. Then I used a couple of textures, and set the opacity of the layers on overlay to lighten it even more. And there you go!
