Holiday Snapshots...

First off, the stress level is high right now.  I am in the middle of moving, getting my finals done, and what's that other thing?  Oh yeah, being a mom!  Pretty much the last one is a 24/7 job on it's own so like I said I'm a bit on edge at the moment.  But I just had to post these pictures that I took during the past couple of weeks, some are for some cool photo challenges and some just because I wanted to get them up here.

Lucy had her first experience in snow the other day, she wasn't a fan but I was since I was able to get a bunch of cute pics of her in her incredible pink snow suit.  The first picture I'm entering into the simplicity photo challenge: favorite shot, I just think it pretty well summed up her exasperation with the whole ordeal:)

The next shots are of Lucy's new hairband made by me and her cute Christmas dress that I got at a steal during Black Friday, the light has been horrible lately plus when you're in a tiny apartment it doesn't help but there are a couple of cute shots in there:

This last picture is one from thanksgiving.  Lucy was such a favorite of all of her cousins and aunts and this picture just seems to sum all that up.  I am so blessed to have such amazing family members that make the holidays such a blast.  I'm entering this one into the paper mama photo challenge, Blessings:

Simplicity Photo Challenge: Summer

I just recently stumbled on to a site that had some amazing photography here, the site is simplicity and she is hosting a photo challenge all about what we miss most about the summer.  This photo challenge hit home for me since I am dealing with some seasonal affective disorder at the moment;)
Here in East Idaho the weather is ridiculously cold and snow is an everyday occurrence now, yuck.  I grew up in the desert side of Washington where the weather stayed pretty moderate and if we did by some miracle get snow no one knew how to handle it so everything would shut down... not here.  Here we still have school when the snow is past your knees and it's 20 bellow zero outside:( So unless I have to go out I stay in our apartment where it's warm.
This brings me to the thing I miss most about summer, freedom!  Freedom to take a walk to the park or go on a run without having to worry if Lucy will get a cold.  Freedom to sit on a blanket in the grass and take pictures to my hearts content without my lens getting frost on it.  So I think this picture says it all, it's from one of our last trips to the park before the weather started turning nasty:) Can't you just feel the warm breeze from that summer day when you look at this pic?

Lucy's Facination...

Lucy LOVES my lens, she always tries to attack me when I'm getting close ups, it's gotten worse since she learned to crawl and climb.  This picture was taken during one of her attacks and it turned out pretty cute.  I love it in black and white because it really brings out the shapes and gives it more contrast so you can see what's happening.  I'm entering this into the paper mama challenge, Black and White, enjoy!
